Have you noticed the new PokerPro texas hold em poker tables? The very first time I saw the PokerPro tables was about 2 weeks ago when I took a short vacation with my parents to the WinStar Casino in Oklahoma.
As I waited for my turn to be acknowledged at the live tables, I noticed how the other people at the PokerPro tables interacted with each other. It was fairly intriguing to say the very least. Because the poker table was controlled by a computer, there had been no poker chips to do any chip tricks, no cards to shuffle and the real live experience was boring. Maybe I was the only one that spotted this, except I did notice the gamblers at the table had a lifeless high quality to them. The cause of this may possibly be since there was no human conversation with the dealer, the environment was relatively boring and the players looked uninterested. It was nearly as if I was seeing a live variation of an internet based holdem poker room rather than sitting with warm bodied humans. It was a little bit creepy and I continued to have flash backs to an episode of ST:TNG and the holodeck malfunctioned.
Since the waiting time for the are living tables was over an hour, I made the decision to see how the casino game action was and to encounter this new texas hold’em poker gaming technologies. Soon after playing a few hands, I definitely felt like I was betting at house. The lack of activity on the table was the primary reason. I prefer to stack and shuffle my chips, and mix my cards around. None of those things are feasible at these digital tables.
An additional thing I noticed was how the computer dealt the flop, turn and river cards. I played a lot of hands on the PokerPro table and discovered that the play was a whole lot like an internet holdem poker site. That might have been just a coincidence, except I found it to become very odd.
Soon after wagering a couple of rounds with this "new hold em poker technology", I determined that the PokerPro tables have been not for me. I’m far better off betting texas hold em poker on the internet at house and not travel the distance. If WinStar Gambling house were to obtain rid of the reside poker tables, I think they’d shed a lot of players.
