Gus Hansen had a wonderful year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only player to make it to the closing game in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might recall one of the largest pots in big stakes poker history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Gus raked in a large pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has made many televised poker appearances and is considered to be one of the greatest enthusiasts in the world. While wagering on web poker, another side of Hansen has appeared. He frequently plays in the 200/400 NL max buy-in of $40, 000. Gus more often than not buys in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very poorly. He waits for a decent hand and then goes all-in. I believe Gus is a great poker player but not even close to the regular players at 200/400NL. Unless Gus is penniless, he has absolutely no reason to sit at the table with the minimum buy-in.
Buying in for the min takes almost all of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Gus is assumed to be one of the greatest players in the world but he can’t buy in for the total amt.. I think tv can alter our view of the real world sometimes. The best poker players anywhere in the world might just be players you have will not have heard about. Gus can be found playing internet poker on Full Tilt. He usually plays in big stakes Omaha and texas holdem. Gus has proven himself as a competition player. Can he back up his talents in money games?
