Poker has become world famous recently, with televised events and celebrity poker game shows. Its popularity, though, stretches back in reality a bit further than its television ratings. Over the years many variants on the original poker game have been developed, including some games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these particular games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely related to 21 than old guard poker, in that the players bet against the casino rather than each other. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little concealment or different types of deceptiveness. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up just before the croupier announcing "No more bets." At that instance, both you and the dealer and of course all of the different players acquire 5 cards each. Once you have seen your hand and the casino’s initial card, you need to in turn make a call wager or surrender. The call wager’s value is equal to your beginning wager, which means that the risks will have increased two fold. Giving Up means that your wager goes instantaneously to the casino. After the wager comes the conclusion. If the bank doesn’t have ace/king or better, your bet is given back, including a sum on par with the ante. If the house has a hand with ace/king or better, you win if your hand beats the bank’s hand. The bank pays out chips even with your ante and fixed odds on your call bet. These odds are:
- Equal for a pair or high card
- two to one for 2 pairs
- three to one for three of a kind
- four to one for a straight
- 5-1 for a flush
- seven to one for a full house
- twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
- 50-1 for a straight flush
- one hundred to one for a royal flush
