Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the player against the croupier, not like almost all other poker games that gamblers compete against other gamblers. By playing against the dealer, new players don’t have to be concerned about any other, more experienced players taking their mulla.

Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the customary 52-card standard deck and one joker. The gambler is dealt seven cards faces showing and the house is dealt seven cards face down.

One 5 card hand and a 2 card hand have to be put together from the 7 cards dealt, the 5 card hand has to be higher than the two card hand. To succeed, a player is required to have both of his hand totals to be better than the dealer’s.
